The IGTOA – Ireland Golf Tour Operator Association is delighted to announce the forthcoming “2015 IGTOA Killeen House Trophy National Tournament” to be hosted at Killarney Golf & Fishing Club in association with Fáilte Ireland, the Wild Atlantic Way and Kerry County Council on Wednesday 1st April 2015.

This two day event is hosted by the IGTOA each year to showcase a specific golf tourism region of the country and to mark the commencement of the Irish golf tourism season ahead. This event will host leading IGTOA Golf Tour Operators and representatives from the wider Irish golf tourism industry including Ireland’s golf courses, golf resorts, accommodation and transportation providers, golf media, governing bodies, professional tours and representatives from international golf brands.

Welcoming the event to Kerry, Chief Executive of Kerry County Council Moira Murrell said:

“Kerry County Council is proud to support the 2015 IGTOA Killeen House Trophy National Tournament.  County Kerry’s stunning landscape, with it’s rugged coastline boasting the longest section of the Wild Atlantic Way, has inspired golf architects to design some of the most spectacular and challenging golf courses in the world. From the famous link courses at Ballybunion, Waterville and Tralee; the parkland courses at Killarney and Kenmare, to interesting and demanding courses at Ballyheigue, Castlegregory and Killorglin – Kerry is a golfers’ paradise. Our courses are regularly named among the top courses in Ireland and internationally by golf publications, so it is fitting that we can showcase this to the tour operator sector.”

Speaking on the announcement IGTOA Chairman Denis Kane said:

“The IGTOA is delighted to host the “2015 IGTOA Killeen House Trophy National Tournament & Wild Atlantic Way Banquet” in Killarney. We look forward to bringing the “Killeen House Trophy” back to its natural home, the championship Killeen Course with the long standing support of Michael and Geraldine Rosney, Proprietors of the Killeen House Hotel. Killarney is the “Gateway to the Wild Atlantic Way” and this event will provide a strong platform for our Kerry based golf tourism industry partners to showcase what a truly top quality destination Killarney and the wider County of Kerry is for international golf tourism visitors.
